Materials Required: 

  • Bug remover or Goof Off 
  • Soft microfiber cloth 

Apply a small amount of the Goof Off directly to the chewing gum. You can spray it on or apply it to the cloth first. Allow the product to sit on the gum for at least a minute. 

Attempt to wipe off the gum with your microfiber cloth. If you can’t get the gum off, you might need to combine one of our other options, such as using a scraper.

Use Ice

Materials Required: 

  • Ice cubes 
  • Ziploc bag 
  • Credit card or plastic putty knife 

Put your ice cubes into the Ziploc bag. Seal it, so the water doesn’t leak out. 

Hold an ice cube up to the surface of the gum. Allow it to sit there for a few minutes. You will know it’s time to work with the gum when it gets brittle and hard. 

With your credit card or putty knife, pry under the chewing gum. Twist the card and pop the gum off of the car surface. 

If you don’t have ice cubes, you can do the same steps with compressed air. Once you remove the gum, wash and wax the car.  

Use A Degreaser

Materials Required: 

  • Plastic gloves 
  • Degreaser 
  • Bucket of soapy water 
  • Bucket of clean water 
  • Towels

After the degreaser sits on for a moment, try to scrape it off. You should be able to remove it easily with your towels.
